The use of Some and Any / El uso del "some" y "any"
El some y any son determinantes que indican una cantidad de algo. Pero no una cantidad exacta; En general some se podría traducir como algo, algunos, algún y any según qué oraciones también se puede traducir como ningún, ninguno, nada de, etc.
Reglas específicas de cada uno:
SOME:
1. Se usa principalmente en frases afirmativas
Ex. There is some chocolate on the table
Hay algo de chocolate encima de la mesa.
2. También se usa para ofrecer algo usando frases interrogativas.
Ex. Would you like some biscuits?
¿Te gustaría algunas galletas?
ANY
Casi siempre se usa en las frases negativas e interrogativas.
1. En frases negativas para indicar que no hay nada de algo o ninguno.
Ex. There isn't any bread in the kitchen
No hay nada de pan en la cocina.
2. En frases interrogativas
Ex. Are there any eggs in the fridge? Yes, there are
¿Hay algunos huevos en el frigorífico? Sí los hay
También podemos encontrarnos otros determinantes como:
A lot of: un montón de
A little: un poco de (para nombres incontables)
A few: un poco de (para nombres contables)

Con las frases del some y del any nos vamos a encontrar muchas que empiezan con THERE IS o THERE ARE.
Recordamos que:
- There is significa "Hay" pero para singular y nombres incontables.
Ex. There is some sugar
Hay algo de azúcar.
- There are significa también "Hay" para plural siempre que sean objetos contables.
Ex. There are some eggs
Hay algunos huevos
