As you rememeber we saw the comparatives in grammar. Today we are going to learn about the SUPERLATIVES.

Open your English notebook.

1. Write the date of today. Tuesday the 14th, April 2020

2. Copy this:

As we know, we use the comparatives to compare two people, animals, things, etc.

We use the superlatives to compare a person, an animal or a thing with a group. "El más de todos"

THESE ARE  THREE BASIC RULES:

1. We add -est at the end of the adjective.

Ex. The princess is the kindest in the castle.
       La princesa es la más amable del castillo.

2. If the adjective is long (two or more syllable) we write "the most" before the adjective.

Ex. The knight is the most confident in the kindom.
       El caballero es el más confiado del reino.

3. For negative superlatives always use "the least" (el menos de todos)

Ex. The least clever is the wolf
       El menos listo es el lobo

Take into account that we can find irregular adjectives:

Adjective:         Good   (bueno)
Comparative:    Better (mejor)
Superlative:      The best   (el mejor)

3. The task for today is to take a look at the chart in activity 1 at page 46 (sólo echarle un vistazo al cuadro fijándonos en como se forman los superlativos)
